Hello! It’s so exciting when you get a new tool to play with. My husband bought me a set of the Chromatek Watercolor Brush Pens a few weeks ago. While I’m familiar with Zig Real Brush Pens, I’ve never tried the Chromatek.
I took out my Zig pens and created a swatch to directly test the same colors against each other form both sets. I knew that the Zig were double the price of the Chromatek, so I was curious to see how the Chromatek would measure up.
I first created a swatch using the color of the rainbow, before testing the pens with water. Both reacted immediately when I added liquid, but there was a pigmentation difference. The Zig were significantly richer in color.
I knew that testing the colors on their own wouldn’t be enough to form an opinion. I decided to create the same card using both the marker sets to compare the end results. I have to say, after using them, I love both!
Even though the Chromatek are less pigmented, I came to the conclusion that they would make a great beginner’s set. I received them before the Zig, I wouldn’t have been disappointed.
