Hey everyone. Today’s card is another card using the stencil I made last week. Didn’t I say we’d be seeing this stencil again?
I used a different technique to create the background. I spread texture paste mixed with glitter and ink to make the bubbles. I never expected to love it so much, but I did and that led me to want to create something really special to showcase. A magical background like that deserves a magical character. I did a dragon. Maybe a mermaid? Then I found this little beauty by the Greeting Farm and I knew she’d be the one.
I wanted to make her extra special and I had a vision of a rainbow haired creature, but I wasn’t confident in my alcohol ink coloring skills.
I find that sometimes I get anxiety over using material and trying something new. I feel almost afraid. What if it doesn’t come out? This is silly, of course. Crafting is about trying things that are new, fun, and messy. After all, it’s just ink and paper. If I didn’t like it, I could start from scratch.
Can I tell you how happy I am about trying to color this image! It’s not perfect, and I definitely need to keep practicing, but how stinking cute did she come out! I am definitely going to try this again. Who knows? Maybe sooner than you think.
