Hello there friends. I hope you’re having a pleasant day. Today is day two of my Holiday Cardmaking Series and today’s inspiration comes from my cat and love of the night sky.
As a child, we lived in a house with a great roof that had an easy slope. It made a great place to perch and watch 4th of July fireworks and star gaze. I miss that house. It’s been years since I thought about it, but lately I’ve been a little nostalgic. I remember crawling through the bathroom window and just sitting watching the stars. It was the last house on the block and there weren’t many lights around so the stars looked amazing.
Well, now our house it much taller and the roof is much steeper. To say that my roof climbing days are over is an understatement. However, the one little fur ball that does mind the height or the slope is my tuxedo cat, Kicia. She crawls out of the attic windows and make the tippy top of the room her personal playground. I’m pretty sure she terrorizes the other local wildlife up there, but luckily, she hasn’t brought any trophies home.
When I was going through my stash, I came across the Newton’s Curious Christmas stampset from Newton’s Nook. As soon as I saw the set I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I first ink blended a night sky using Distress Oxide Inks and then accentuated the colors with some gold and pearl splatter effects. The sky set the perfect backdrop for a curious kitty looking up at a full moon with Santa fly across it.
