Hello crafty friends. Happy Mother’s Day! It’s been a chilly and rainy week leading up to Mother’s Day here in New York’s Hudson Valley and I spent a good portion of it creating some mother’s day cards. I wanted to give some really deserving ladies some recognition on this special day and I had an idea to create an off beat card.
I love getting more out of my supplies. I took out this cute stamp set from Photoplay intended for Valentine’s Day and instead, used it to create a really sweet Mother’s Day card. The card is purr-fect for any cat lover mom showcasing four adorable fur balls holding the word LOVE.
I colored the four felines using different combinations of Copics and mounted them onto a heart covered background.
I used the Newton’s Nook Boken Heart stencil to make the colorful background. Rather than ink blending, I used Nevo Crystal Drops and glitter paste. The gritty glitter created a nice contrast with the smooth Nevo Drop, giving the background a lot of interest.
I completed the card with a definite Mother’s Day vibe by creating two banners on color coordinating cardstock using the Cricut.
