Day Seven: Foiled Snowflake Card

Holiday Card Series

Today I’m sharing a beautiful card that I made with the Spellbinders’ Glimmer Hot Foil System. This was relatively new to me, but over the past month, I’ve grown to appreciate the amazing and consistent results it gives.

I first ink blended over a teal color cardstock using Distress Oxide Inks. While blending these inks looks beautiful on white cardstock, it has a much different effect on colored cardstock. You can ink blend to add depth in your already colored cardstock. I used Uncharted Mariner, Chipped Saphhire, and Black Soot along one corner of my panel to give the back ground a little variation.

Next, I heat foiled the Snowflakes hot plate from Pinkfresh Studio in the Prism Glimmer Foil. This plate is very large and has coordinating dies if you want them. I off set the plate so that the pattern would hang off the.

To finish the card, I added an all ready made foiled sentiment, “It’s the most wonderful time of year,” from the Pinkfresh Studio’s Holiday Sentiments Set 1. I placed silver pearls on the card front for additional shine and dimension.
