Cutting Dies are such a great tool that can really help bring a craft together, but they can be expensive. Recently I went looking for an alternative to the mainstream die providers and I stumbled across Hunulu 8pcs Rectangle Cutting Dies on Amazon. The price initially caught my eye because they were listed at $3.90 with free shipping. The product had a 5-star rating and the provider also had a high satisfaction rate. For the price, I didn’t see the purchase as a risk.
What you get: When I opened my package, I found that they were loosely packed in a clear plastic pouch sealed with a description sticker. In honesty, the packaging wasn’t impressive, but for free shipping, it made sense. The dies themselves are a thin die made of carbon steel. The measurements range from the largest being 4.57×3.15 inch to the smallest being 1.88x.43 inch. The design was a simple rectangle with a stitched boarder on the inner cut of the die.
My impression: I’ve used these dies for several projects, including my Positive and Negative Space Hello cards, and I am very happy with the product. They initially seemed very thin and the measurements are a little kooky, but they have cut well through paper and foam using my Cuttlebug. I’ve cut through 110-lb. weight paper, 80-lb. weight paper, 65-lb. weight paper, .005 acetate, foam sheet, and velum without a problem. For first time crafters or those looking for a standard die, this can be a good choice. The shipping however does take some time, so keep that in mind when planning for your project. When I ordered mine, the expected delivery was more than a month away, however it arrived sooner than that.
