I’m always excited to find new stamps. I was doing a search for ocean themed stamps on Amazon when I came across this by Flonz. The seller is a small based company out of New Zealand and they have an array of other products. I found the design to be interesting. It was priced fairly at $6.99, not including a $2.99 shipping charge.
What you get: I received this item packaged with care instructions in a clear cellophane pouch between two clear plastic films; one displaying the designs on top and the other protecting the rubber image. The stamp I received was clear, but had an orange tint to it. I found the rubber to be tougher than the average clear stamps, but that didn’t seem to affect the resulting image. The stamp comes as one whole image with a cling back. The buyer can then cut it into individual strips and mount them to acrylic blocks.
My Impression: This stamp is lovely. Rather than cutting it, I use it as a large background stamp. This can make maneuvering the it a little difficult. The image has lot of details. If there are imperfections, they get lost in the image. I used the stamp with and without a precision tool, both with regular ink and embossing ink and found the results to be beautiful. My most recent project featuring this stamp is my Mermaid with Embossed Resist Background card. The one thing I didn’t like about the stamp deals with the packaging and not the stamp itself. The clear film, which the stamp was stuck to and meant to display the image, rubbed off almost immediately. Other than that, I found the stamp to be a great addition to my crafting supplies.
